কৌশিক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ইতিহাস বিভাগের রিডার। লন্ডন থেকে প্রকাশিত সকার এন্ড সোসাইটি গবেষণা পত্রিকার তিনি সহযোগী সম্পাদক। কৌশিকের পি এইচ ডি গবেষণার বিষয় ছিল বাংলার ফুটবলের সামাজিক ইতিহাস। তাঁর লেখা গ্রন্থগুলির মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হল: খেলা যখন ইতিহাস: সমাজ, সংস্কৃতি, রাজনীতি (কলকাতা সেতু প্রকাশনী ২০০৭); Playing for Freedom: A Historic Sports Victory (New Delhi: Standard Publishers, 2008) ; Playing off the Field: Explorations in the History of Sport (Kolkata: Towards Freedom, 2007); Goalless: The Story of a Unique Footballing Nation (Co-authored with Boria Majumdar) (New Delhi: Penguin/Viking, 2006)।
